Making heroes into monuments is a form of historic justice rooted in post-Soviet mentality. In “Scars” sculpture, the author takes up the theme of memory and works on a documentary image of a not-yet formed monument to the warrior. The exhibited “piece of a big monument” is an independent memorial sign which tries to document and comprehend war while it is still ongoing.
