SOLO SHOW “THE BORDERS OF SPACE, bottega gallery, Kiev, 2010

In his works Nazar Bilyk explores the boundaries of visible space with the possibilities of sculpture. Our understanding of space over the last two decades has changed considerably. From an ontologically-defined concept, it has become rather relative. The notion that you need to redefine every time.

Traditionally, the sculpture works with timeless space, which in the classical sense is not subject to time. In the practice of modern sculpture, it is said more about the premature space, its breakdown with time. How is it possible to explore the contemporary understanding of space with traditional circular sculptural methods? How to separate outer space from internal? Is it possible to find and fix its limits? Nazar Bilyk explores the boundaries of the visible, which each time slip away from him, and remain uncertain. the project unfolds like an endless act of thinking, when every attempt to answer the questions inevitably leads to the statement of the next.
